How We Started

I was taught to sew by my maternal grandmother using a Singer treadle sewing machine and made my first dress for myself when I was 8 years old. I was bitten by the sewing bug then and have been sewing for myself and others every since.

A few years ago I bought a couple of pairs of dungarees for myself. I wore these until they fell apart. The best pair I cut up and made a pattern so I could make myself some more of them.

My husband and I had some friends visit not long ago and they both commented on the dungarees I was wearing. Andrew has been an inspiration for me. He had a pattern made from an old shirt he really liked. He was getting fabric printed using repeat patterns of photos that he had taken. Quite by accident he came across recycled fabrics and began making his shirts from those. His business has really taken off. Papadrew for recycled shirts.

So now I am sourcing unclaimed fabrics and giving them a new life as dungarees. I make three adult sizes:- Small is 8 - 12, Medium is 12 -14 and Large is 14 - 16. Childrens sizes Small 3- 6 months, Medium 6 -12 months, Large 12-18 months X large 18-24 months

Dungarees are individual and original and no two in each size will be the same.
